Why PDA For Prom is not OK!
It's that time of year- yep PROM! And if it's your first time preparing your teen for this magical night, then here is one piece of advice I can share with you as a Mother and photographer: This is NOT an Engagement session! Engagement sessions are about love and romance and the chemistry between the engaged couple eagerly awaiting their wedding. But your Prom photos should not have the same message.
It’s only natural that when we see a beautiful couple in formal wear we want to associate love and romance. However, High School Proms are traditionally about celebrating the end of the school year with your friends. It's a right of passage that celebrates innocence with a hint of chivalry. l should not include PDA. That’s right, folks: public displays of affection.
During your Prom session, I will ask you to hold hands, hug, and sometimes cuddle! This is part of my normal workflow for Prom sessions. It is my job to ensure that you look your best without making things awkward. And as always, HAVE FUN!
